DA29-00003G Replacement Instructions

  1. Locate the existing filter and Twist a quarter-turn counterclockwise.
  2. Pull the filter straight down and discard (The water will shut off automatically).
  3. Push the new filter up into the fridge until it stops.
  4. Twist the filter a quarter-turn clockwise until Tight.
  5. Note: Filter must be pushed firmly into receiver and turned until filter is locked in place. If filter is not locked correctly, water will not flow.
  6. Flush 2 – 3 gallons of water from water dispenser. Some noise and spurting is common as air is purged from the system.

  1. Shutoff the cold-water supply to the refrigerator before installation. Turn on the refrigerator water dispenser to release water pressure, letting water drain from the pipe completely.
  2. It is normal for black carbon fines (particles) to appear on the outside of your filter. This happens when the filter is jarred in shipping. It is safe to simply wipe it off.
  3. The filter connectors are larger to prevent leaks. You might have to twist the filter hard to make sure the connection is secure.
  4. Open the filter cover and turn the knob of the filter cartridge counter-clockwise by 90 degrees to unlock the old filter. Then pull it out.
  5. Insert the new filter cartridge and turn it clockwise to lock into place.
  6. Press and hold Filter Reset on the main panel for 3 seconds to reset the filter life.
  7. Open the water valve and run water through the dispenser for about 5 minutes to remove any trapped air and clear the system.
